My Story

Welcome to Leeds’ Walk4Water fundraising page!

On Sunday 26th May, we are setting off on a journey through Leeds to bring attention to a crucial issue: water scarcity in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Awareness and empathy: Our aim is to raise awareness and make a difference to the issue of water scarcity in Sub-Saharan Africa, where women and children walk many miles to fetch water which is often unsafe to drink. We will walk 5.6km through Leeds City Centre while carrying weighted jerry cans to symbolise their struggle and to build empathy.

Our goal: To raise £2700, which will go directly towards building a water well in Kenya for Mahondo Primary School. Even the smallest donation will make a difference and help bring clean, safe drinking water to school pupils.

What can I do?

1.                 Donate: Every donation matters.

2.                 Join the Walk: Come and experience the challenge yourself - you can try carrying the water cans too.

3.                  Spread the word: share our campaign with friends and family on social media and bring them along to participate!

Thank you for your support: your donations have a huge impact on our communities. Clean water means health, education, and opportunity. It paves the way for a brighter, more sustainable future. Thank you.
